Full Calendar of Events Planned
Landholders have many opportunities to expand their knowledge, with a full calendar of events planned for the first half of 2016.
DCCA will be hosting a number of events over the coming months.
Grazing BMP 5 Module Reassessment Workshops will be held at Taroom (16th March) and Biloela (17th March). These workshops cover the five modules - animal production, animal health and welfare, soil health, grazing land management and people and business.
Google Mapping Workshops will give landholders the opportunity to create their own property map using free Google Earth mapping tools and data through Queensland Globe. Workshops will be held at Biloela (16th February), Moura (17th February), Taroom (18th February) and Injune (19th February).
Understanding how groundwater works, local geology, information and conditions and how individual landholders can monitor their own groundwater levels will be the focus of Getting to Know Your Groundwater Workshops at Taroom (1st March) and Injune (2nd March).
The five Grains BMP modules, to be covered at a Grains BMP Workshop at Taroom on 21st April, offer opportunities to discuss pratical ideas or improvement with other growers and industry representatives.
DCCA will also host a Grains Innovations Demonstration Day at Taroom on 7th April and a Gully Erosion Demonstration Field Day at 'Moorang', Taroom on 14th April.
Accelerated Grazing BMP, Grazing BMP Animals and People and Business Module Workshop, Grazing BMP 5 Module Reassessment Workshops, Google Mapping, Getting to Know Your Groundwater, Grains BMP Workshops, Grains Training Events, Gully Erosion Demonstration Field Days and Stocktake Workshops will also be hosted by Capricornia Catchments and Central Highlands Regional Resources Use Planning Cooperative (CHRRUP) over the coming months.
